This approach represents a major shift from conventional pest control methods, which relies primarily on chemicals. We implement an integrated Pest Management (IPM ) approach instead, which emphasizes non-chemical methods such as sanitation, exclusion, monitoring, and trapping.
The Green Shield program utilizes non-toxic, earth-friendly pest control methods such as:
- Excluding pests from your home or business by sealing holes, installing door sweeps, utilizing air curtains in commercial buildings, etc.
- Source reduction through habitat modification, proper sanitation practices, and elimination of conducive conditions.
- Monitoring pest populations with sticky traps and pheromone lures.
- Using non-toxic methods such as trapping as a first choice when pest problems are detected.
- When necessary, using environmentally friendly, organic pest control products.
When non-chemical methods alone aren't enough, Z-Best Pest Control uses ECO Exempt products to control these infestations. These products are made of organic, naturally-occurring ingredients. The EPA considers them to pose such a minimal risk that they're not even required to be registered as pesticides. But they're effective when used as part of a coordinated Integrated Pest Management program.
